I'm currently working on my second project now!
Our brief this time was to create a "sensational fictional narrative"and the starting point was Penny Dreadfuls.
Again, it feels as if, even though we're given a brief, we're pretty much allowed to do anything we want.. Maybe because later on in life, it's the rare few designers that can actually freely do exactly what they want?
Since the start of October, shops have already been dressed in their Halloween outfits and so I predictably decided to look at Halloween for my project :).
I only started to celebrate Halloween when I became a teen as my parents were (are) against the commercial aspect of it bla bla bla. Essentially, I'm making up for all the sweet-eating, dressing up and pumpkin carving I missed out over my childhood now :). I bought myself a pumpkin yesterday and I can't wait to carve it into something amazing !
Anyway. Was looking for some inspiration and came across some interesting pictures dating back from Victorian times on flickr .
I also found out about this artist who I really like ! He's a korean artist called Do-Ho Suh
I really like his "little people" work :)
I'm off to paint a pumpkin now.
