New Beginnings... ?

Right! Hello!

I'm currently riding on the wave of inspiration and ambition a new school year brings.
So I thought I'd have a go at blogging again?
Though this time I'm not going to school.. I've started my foundation course at university!
I think I mentioned applying to foundation courses in the last post ...
I applied to Central St Martins but was rejected. Was also rejected from Kingston and a local adults education centre..
Bummer.. Not going to lie, my self esteem took a small blow and I felt like I was going to have to take a forced gap year..
But then! I received an e-mail from London College of Communication around Easter time inviting me to their open day. They also kindly informed me I still had a chance to apply for a foundation course...
and so I did :)!

I was accepted and here I am. Now a student at LCC in the Graphics Design pathway. Exciting stuff?
Yes!
Our first brief is called : The Cabinet of Curiosities where we've been told we have three weeks to make a cabinet..

I have approximately a week left and so far I think I'm doing ok..
I learnt a lot from my A level art course as I made a lot of mistakes and had terrible time management. Really terrible. Well I also think having zero motivation contributed slightly as I ended up doing a lot of procrastination. I ended up doing the maximum amount of work I could in the littlest amount of time I still had available and became something resembling a stressed hamster who had too much coffee.
I also learnt that not having a clear idea of what you are doing or heading is not a good thing. It's all very well to 'explore your options and the theme' but if you do not know what you want to express or show then you will get lost.

I find it funny how I started this blog a year and a bit ago to accompany my art project.. I started with good intentions but ended with a D hohoho.
Hopefully then, all the mistakes I made on the soul-draining course that was a-level fine art will help me this year :)

Anyway. I am off to research eggs and everything that is eggfull and eggtastic for my project now!
